What Is APA on a Yacht Charter?

APA (Advance Provisioning Allowance) is a sum paid on top of the charter fee, typically 25–40% of it, that the captain uses for running costs during your trip: fuel, food and beverages, port and marina fees, and communications.

The captain keeps receipts and reconciles the account at the end of the charter. Any balance is refunded; overspend is settled before disembarking.

Use the calculator to estimate your all-in budget including APA, VAT and crew gratuity.
